    Get started

    Choose a path

There are four ways to start a Starjay site; this page helps you pick the one that fits.

    Path Best when Start here
Describe your site to the AI You know what you want and want a site built around it. Quickstart
Start from a template You'd rather begin from a finished design and change it. Templates
Rebuild an existing site You have a site (yours or one you admire) and want something similar. Rebuild or borrow from an existing site
Build from Claude Code or Codex You already work with an AI app on your computer. Connect Claude Code

All four paths lead to the same place: a site you can edit in the editor and publish. You can mix them. For example, start from a template, then ask the AI to restyle it.

Describe your site to the AI

Create a site from Blank. When you open it, the empty page shows a Describe your site box. Write what the site is for, who it's for, and how it should feel. The AI builds the first page, and you keep asking for changes from the AI panel.

This is the fastest way to a site that's specific to you. Read Write prompts that work for tips.

    Start from a template

When you create a site, pick a template under Start from instead of Blank. You get your own independent copy of the template, including its images. The copy starts unpublished, and its form delivery settings are removed so that you can add your own.

    See Templates.

    Rebuild an existing site

In the AI panel, give the AI the address of a web page and ask it to recreate it. The AI captures the page's look, colors, fonts, and structure, then builds something similar on your site. It reads one page at a time, and each capture uses credits.

See Rebuild or borrow from an existing site, or follow the worked example Rebuild an existing site.

Build from Claude Code or Codex

Connect Starjay to an AI app on your computer, such as Claude Code, the Claude app, or Codex. One connection covers all your sites. In the editor, the Use Claude or Codex button in the AI panel shows how to connect and gives you a starter prompt for the current site.

Your AI's changes show up in the editor as versions, and you still Save or Reject them there. Your AI must ask you before it publishes. ChatGPT isn't supported.

See Connect Claude Code or follow Build a site from Claude Code.
