    Spam protection

Explains how Starjay keeps spam out of your forms without making visitors solve puzzles.

Every Starjay form has spam protection built in. Visitors don't see any of it.

    The honeypot field

Each form has a hidden field that people never see or fill in. Many spam bots fill in every field they find. When the hidden field has a value, Starjay quietly drops the submission. The bot gets a normal "thank you" response, so it has no reason to try again.

The honeypot is on by default. You can see it under Settings as Honeypot, and turn it off with Spam protection while editing. Keep it on unless you have a reason not to.

Only your site can send submissions

A form accepts submissions only from pages on your own site. A script on another website can't post to your form.

    Limits per visitor

Each form limits how many submissions one visitor can send in an hour. A visitor who goes over sees an error until the hour has passed. This stops one person or bot from flooding your inbox. If a form legitimately needs more, such as a sign-in sheet at an event, ask the AI to raise the limit for that form.

    What isn't available

There's no CAPTCHA (the "I'm not a robot" checks) for forms.

    If spam still gets through

    • Make sure the honeypot is on.
    • Delete the spam submissions one at a time.
    • Tell us through Get support.
