    Upgrade, switch to yearly, downgrade

    How to move between Free and Pro, switch to yearly billing, and what happens to your sites when you downgrade.

    Upgrade to Pro

      Open Subscriptions

      In the dashboard, select Subscriptions. On the Free plan you see the plan comparison.

      Choose monthly or yearly

      Use the Annual / Monthly switch above the plans. Yearly saves 33%.

      Select Upgrade to Pro

      In the Pro column, select Upgrade to Pro. A dialog lists what Pro includes and the price.

      Go to checkout

      Select Continue to checkout. Payment is handled on a Stripe checkout page, where you see tax and can enter a promo code.

      Return to Starjay

      After paying, you come back to Subscriptions. You may see Confirming your purchase… for a moment.

    Pro starts as soon as the payment goes through.

    If your workspace already pays for credit packs, upgrading charges you in the app instead: the dialog shows the amount and a Pay button, and Pro starts immediately.

    Switch to yearly billing

    You can switch a monthly Pro plan to yearly.

      Find Next renewal

      On Subscriptions, find the Next renewal card.

      Select Switch to annual

      Select Switch to annual. The dialog shows Due today and when the plan renews.

      Pay

      Select Pay. Your full monthly payment is credited toward the yearly charge.

    Credit packs switch to yearly billing with your plan.

    There's no button to switch from yearly back to monthly. Switch to annual isn't shown while another billing change is scheduled.

    Downgrade to Free

      Open your plan

      On Subscriptions, select Manage on the Current plan card. The Manage your plan dialog opens.

      Select Downgrade to Free

      In the Free column, select Downgrade to Free.

      Review what will happen

      The dialog explains what happens to your sites and lists which sites are Likely to be archived and Likely to stay active.

      Confirm

      Select Downgrade.

    You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. The Current plan card shows when Pro ends.

    What happens when Pro ends

    • Extra sites are archived. Free includes three active sites. Any others are archived and unpublished, and their custom domains are disconnected. They stay on your dashboard with their content, but can't be opened until you're on Pro again.
    • Which sites stay active: sites with a verified custom domain first, then published sites, then the most recently edited. Starjay decides from your sites as they are on the day Pro ends, so the list in the dialog is an estimate.
    • Members are paused. See When Pro ends.
    • Credits drop to 1,000 a month, and only GPT-6 Luna is available.
    • Credit packs keep renewing until you remove them. See Buy more credits.

    Change your mind

    Until Pro ends, select Keep Pro on the Current plan card. Your workspace stays on Pro and nothing is archived.
