    Delete and restore a page

How to mark a page for deletion, bring it back before you publish, and what happens when you publish.

Deleting a page is a two-step process: you mark it, and the next publish removes it. Until then you can change your mind.

    Delete a page

    1. 01

      Right-click the page

In the Pages panel, right-click the page you want to delete.

    2. 02

      Choose Mark for Delete

A Delete page dialog explains: This will be carried out on the next publish. It is reversible until then.

    3. 03

      Confirm

Click Delete. The page shows a Deleted label in the tree.

The page stays in the editor until you publish. When you publish, it's removed from your live site and from the editor. Visitors who go to its address after that see your 404 page.

You can't delete Home or your 404 page.

Restore a page before you publish

Right-click the page and choose Undelete. The page returns to the state it was in at your last publish: ready if it was live, or a draft if it wasn't.

You can also press Cmd/Ctrl+Z straight after marking it.

    After you publish

Once a publish has removed the page, you can't undelete it. To get it back, restore a checkpoint from before the publish. Restoring a checkpoint brings back the whole site as it was at that point.
