    The editor

Working with others at the same time

What the "also editing" notice means and why two people editing the same site at once can overwrite each other's work.

Members of a workspace can open the same site at the same time. When someone else has the site open, a notice appears:

    • {Name} is also editing this site.
    • {Name1} and {Name2} are also editing this site.
    • {Name} and {N} others are also editing this site.

Under it: Edits from two people can overwrite each other. Click the X to dismiss it. It comes back if a different set of people joins.

Why edits can overwrite each other

The notice is only a heads-up. It doesn't stop either of you from editing, and there's no lock that gives one person control. Both of you change the same site, so:

    • If you both edit the same text or the same element, the last save wins.
    • The AI session is shared. If one person asks the AI for changes, everyone sees the AI working, and editing pauses for everyone until it finishes. Saving or rejecting the session applies to everyone's work in it.
    • Undo steps back through the most recent changes on the site, which may include the other person's.

    How to avoid problems

    • Agree who is editing which pages.
    • Avoid editing at the same time as someone who is working with the AI.
    • Save a checkpoint before a big change, so you can return to it.

An AI app editing the site

If someone is working on the site from an AI app such as Claude Code, you see a different message, Claude is editing — locked, and editing is paused until it finishes. See How agent work shows up in the editor.
