Publish and domains
Choose which address serves your site
Pick whether your site is served at your Starjay address or your custom domain.
Your site is served at one address at a time: either your free Starjay address or your custom domain. Once you've connected a domain, the Connected Domains list in the Publish panel shows a round button next to each address. The selected one is your live address. The other address doesn't serve your site.
You can only select a custom domain once all its DNS records are verified. Until then it shows a yellow dot and its status.
- 01
Open the Publish panel
Click Publish in the editor's top bar.
- 02
Select an address
Under Connected Domains, click the address you want.
- 03
Confirm if the site is live
If the site is published, Starjay asks Republish to switch domains. Switching republishes the site, so any changes made since your last publish go live too. Click Republish.
If the site isn't published (never published, or unpublished), your choice is saved and takes effect when you next publish. There's no confirmation.
What switching changes
- Visitors at the address you switched away from no longer reach your site.
- Every page's canonical address is updated to the new address. That's why switching republishes.
- Your sitemap and social sharing tags use the new address.
See an address's DNS state
Click ⋯ next to your custom domain. The top of the menu shows DNS configured or Verifying DNS.
