Show the AI what you mean: screenshots
How to attach or paste screenshots to a message so the AI can see what you're describing.
A screenshot is often faster than a description. Attach a picture of a layout you like, a bug you see, or a sketch, and tell the AI what to do with it.
- 01
Add the screenshot
Click the image icon next to the send button (Attach screenshot (or paste)) and choose a file. Or copy an image and paste it into the prompt box. To add more, repeat.
- 02
Check what's attached
Thumbnails appear above the text. Click one to see it full size. Click the × on a thumbnail to remove it.
- 03
Say what to do with it
The box now says Describe what to do with these screenshots.... Tell the AI what to take from the image, then press
Enter.
Limits
| Limit | |
|---|---|
| Screenshots per message | 3 |
| File types | PNG, JPEG, WebP |
| Size of each screenshot | 5 MB |
| All screenshots in one message together | 15 MB |
If a file doesn't fit, you see a message such as Screenshots must be PNG, JPEG, or WebP. or Up to 3 screenshots per message. Export a large image as WebP or JPEG to make it smaller.
Screenshots are for the AI, not your site
A screenshot you attach is something the AI looks at. It isn't added to your image library or placed on your page. To put an image on your site, add it to the image library, or ask the AI to generate one.
Tips
- Say what matters: "Copy the layout of the pricing table in this screenshot, not the colors."
- Circle or mark up the part you mean before you take the screenshot.
- For a page you can't share by address (for example, one behind a login), a screenshot is the way to show it. For a public page, you can give the AI its address instead.
