Workspaces
What a workspace is, what it owns, and how to switch between and rename workspaces.
A workspace is the account your sites belong to. When you sign up, you get a workspace of your own, and you're its owner.
What a workspace owns
Everything in these lists belongs to the workspace, not to a single site or person:
- Sites. Everyone in the workspace sees the same sites.
- The plan and billing. Free or Pro applies to the whole workspace. See Plans.
- AI credits. One shared pool for every site and every member. See How credits work.
- Page views. One allowance shared across every site. See Page view allowance.
- Members. On Pro, the owner can invite people. See Invite members.
Belonging to more than one workspace
If someone invites you to their workspace and you accept, you belong to both. A workspace picker then appears at the top of the dashboard's left menu. Select it and choose a workspace to switch; the dashboard reloads with that workspace's sites. Pending invitations also appear in the picker as Join plus the workspace name.
Settings > Account lists every workspace you belong to, with your role in each.
Rename a workspace
Only the owner can rename a workspace.
- 01
Open the Workspace tab
Go to Settings > Workspace.
- 02
Type the new name
Change Workspace name (1 to 80 characters). Members see this name, and it appears in invitations and in the workspace picker.
- 03
Save
Select Save.
Members see the name but can't change it.
What isn't available
- There's no way to transfer ownership of a workspace in the app.
- A member can't leave a workspace on their own. Ask the owner to remove you. See Roles.
- There's no button to delete a workspace. Email support@starjay.com with the subject "Account deletion request". See Get support.
