Building
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe what you want, the AI builds it, and you adjust it visually. If you do code, your site is a standard Astro and Tailwind CSS project. See What is Starjay.
Can I use React components?
No. React and other framework components don't work on Starjay sites. For interactivity, sites use plain <script>, <details>, and <dialog>. See What isn't supported.
Can I undo what the AI did?
Yes. Before you save a session, step back to an earlier version or select Reject to restore the site to how it was before the session. After you save, restore a checkpoint. See AI sessions: versions, Save and Reject.
Can two people edit the same site at once?
They can, but they can overwrite each other's changes. The editor shows a notice when someone else is also editing. See Working with others at the same time.
Can I connect ChatGPT?
No. You can connect Claude Code, the Claude app or Claude.ai, Codex, and other apps that support remote MCP with sign-in. See Connect Claude Code.
Is there an API?
No. There's no public API for Starjay.
Publishing and domains
Does anything change on my live site while I edit?
No. Visitors see what you last published. Your changes go live when you publish. Collection items are the exception: each item goes live when you publish that item. See Publish your site.
Can the AI publish my site?
The AI in the editor can't publish. An AI app connected from your computer must ask you, and you must confirm, before it publishes. See What the AI can and can't do.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on every plan, including Free. See Connect a custom domain.
Can I buy a domain through Starjay?
No. Buy your domain from a domain provider, then connect it.
Can I schedule a publish or share a preview link?
No. Neither is available.
Credits and billing
What happens when I run out of credits?
The AI stops until you have credits again. Your published sites keep working. See Running out of credits.
Am I charged for page views over my allowance?
Not during beta. Views over your allowance aren't billed or limited. See Page view allowance.
Your data
Can I download my site's code?
There's no download button. Your own AI app can read every file of your site through its connection, and you can ask support for a data export. See Get support.
Can I export my collection content?
There's no button to export CMS content. Ask support for a data export.
How long are form submissions kept?
Until you delete them or delete the site. Submissions are deleted one at a time; there's no "delete all". See Read and export submissions.
How do I delete my account?
Email support; you can't delete your account yourself. You can delete individual sites from the dashboard. See Get support.
How do I leave a workspace?
Ask the workspace owner to remove you. Members can't leave a workspace themselves. See Roles.
