    Your 404 page

What visitors see at an address that doesn't exist, and how to give your site its own 404 page.

A 404 page is what visitors see when they go to an address on your site that doesn't exist. They also see it at the address of a draft page, a page you've deleted and published, and a CMS item that doesn't exist or isn't published.

    New sites don't have one

A new site has no 404 page of its own. Until you add one, visitors who reach a missing address get a plain "not found" response with none of your site's design.

    Create your 404 page

Ask the AI, for example: "Create a 404 page in our site's style, with a short message and a link back to the homepage."

You can't create it from the Pages panel, because 404 is a reserved name there.

Once it exists, your 404 page appears in the Pages panel like any other page. Edit it on the canvas the same way. Publish your site to put it live.

What you can't do with it

    • You can't rename it or change its address.
    • You can't move it or drag it.
    • You can't delete it.

These actions don't appear in its right-click menu.
