The image library
Describes your site's image library: adding images, supported formats and sizes, search, tags and image details.
Every site has its own image library. Every image on your site comes from it, whether you uploaded it, imported it from a web address, or the AI added it. To open it, click Images in the left icon rail. The panel is titled Assets.
Add images
Click Add images, then do one of these:
- Drop images here, or click or choose files to pick them from your computer. You can add several at once.
- Click Import from URL, paste the address of an image on the web, and click Import.
You can also upload from the image picker while placing an image. See Place and replace images.
| Formats | JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG |
| Maximum file size | 20 MB per image |
| Not accepted | AVIF, HEIC and other formats. These are skipped with "unsupported type". |
Automatic tags and descriptions
After you add an image, the AI looks at it and adds tags. If the image has no description yet, it writes one. While this happens you see a message such as "Uploaded "…" — describing with AI…", then what it added.
This uses credits. If you're out of credits, the image is still added, with "AI description skipped (no credits)". You can add tags and a description yourself at any time.
Find an image
- Search with the box at the top. It matches names, descriptions and tags.
- Filter by tags with the Tags button. Pick one or more tags to show images that have any of them.
Image details
Click an image to open its details. Click ← Assets to go back.
| Detail | What it is |
|---|---|
| Preview and size | The image, its width and height in pixels, its format, and how it was added (for example, Uploaded or Imported). |
| Name | A label for finding the image. Renaming it doesn't change the image's address. |
| Tags | Words for finding the image. Type a tag and press Enter. Suggestions come from tags on your other images. Click × on a tag to remove it. |
| Description | Used in search, and as the default alt text when the image is placed. See Alt text and descriptions. |
| Usage | Where the image is used on your site. See Where an image is used, and deleting. |
| URL | The image's address on your published site, with Copy. Before you publish, you see "Publish the site to get a shareable link." |
| Allow hotlinking | Whether other websites may show this image. Off by default. See Hotlink protection. |
To edit Name or Description, click it, make your change and click Save, or press Enter. Press Escape or click Cancel to undo the change.
Images from the AI
When the AI imports or generates an image, it goes into this library like any other. See Generate images.
